The 11th running of the Irish Oaks was held on Wednesday 26th July 1905 over 1 mile of The Curragh, starting at the Madrid Post. A pot of 300 sovereigns was availble, 20 sovereigns to the second and 10 sovereigns to the third. The winner was owned by Mr P Murphy, trained by J J Parkinson at Maddenstown Lodge, Curragh, and ridden by J Thompson. The winner won by 10 lengths, with 10 lengths between second and third.

RACE REPORT

Honeysweet swerved at the start and collided with Bath Bun, presenting the favourite with an easy early lead. Blakestown led throughout, making all in a common canter to win by 10 lengths, with a further 10 lengths between Honeysweet and Bath Bun.
